Product Overview
HDPE shade netting (also called shade cloth) is a UV-stabilized knitted net used to control light and temperature in greenhouses and agriculture. OMB Textiles manufactures it in 30–90% shading, 40–350 gsm, up to 12 m wide, with 100% virgin HDPE. For stronger reflective cooling, our aluminum shade net reflects heat instead of absorbing it.
OMB shade nets are knit in-house from 100% virgin HDPE with UV stabilization, so they hold their strength and shading performance season after season — typically 2–5 years under normal weather, and longer with correct installation.

Most “shade net suppliers” online are trading companies — they buy from factories like ours and add a margin for forwarding your email. Buying from the shade net manufacturer itself changes three things that matter to an importer. First, spec control: we knit the net in our own Changzhou factory, so shading rate (30–90%), weight (40–350 gsm), width (up to 12 m seamless), color and the UV-stabilizer package are production settings, not catalog limitations — a 4.2 m width for your gutter-connected greenhouse is a machine adjustment, not a special project. Second, one QC standard: the same resin batch, the same UV masterbatch dosing, the same inline weight checks from the first roll to the last roll of your container — traders aggregating from multiple workshops cannot promise that. Third, price structure: your quote is polymer cost + knitting + packing + freight, with no middle layer. On a 14-ton container that difference is usually the margin that decides whether a distributor’s season works.
We have knitted HDPE netting since 2003 — more than 20 years — and shade net is the product line that built the factory. The same warp-knitting lines that produce our agricultural nets run shade net daily, which is why mixed containers (shade net plus bird or hail net in one 40’HQ) are routine for us and complicated for single-product workshops.
Every roll starts as 100% virgin HDPE resin — never recycled regrind, which is the industry’s quiet shortcut and the reason cheap nets chalk and tear in their second summer. UV-stabilizer masterbatch is dosed per production batch, and the tapes are warp-knitted into the interlocked structure that lets a knitted net flex in wind instead of tearing like woven or extruded alternatives. Weight is checked inline against the ordered GSM, and rolls are measured, labeled and bagged on the line. Before any container leaves, we keep retention samples from its production batches — if you ever have a field question two seasons from now, we can test against the actual material you received, not a spec sheet.
Service life is a function of that UV package, and we spec it honestly: our standard agricultural grades are built for 3–5 years of outdoor exposure, heavy grades for longer. If a supplier promises “10 years” at a commodity price, ask for the UV test report by batch number — it is the single most revealing document in this product category.
Shade net ships as compressed rolls — poly-bagged, with woven outer wrap and your private-label print if you want it. A 40’HQ container carries 14–15 tons, which at the common 50–80 gsm agricultural weights works out to roughly 180,000–280,000 square meters per container. Our MOQ is 2 tons, low enough for a new distributor’s trial order, and trial orders can mix grades and colors inside one shipment. Standard production lead time is 25–35 days after deposit; payment is T/T 30% deposit with 70% balance against documents, or 100% L/C at sight. Samples of any grade are free — you cover the courier — and every inquiry gets a reply within 24 hours with roll count, container loading math and a landed-cost picture for your port.
