Maximum knitted shade for fern and ornamental shade houses, desert climates and heavy-duty covers.
Ninety percent is the heavy end of knitted shade — close to the practical maximum a breathable net can deliver. It is specified when the goal is to remove nearly all direct radiation while keeping air moving: shade houses for ferns and shade ornamentals, structures in desert and high-radiation climates, and non-crop covers where people, animals or materials need deep shade without a solid roof.
We knit 90% net from 100% virgin HDPE with UV stabilization on our own warp-knitting lines in Changzhou — the same factory, resin discipline and quality control behind every rate we have shipped since 2003.
Genuinely shade-demanding plants — ferns, shade ornamentals and foliage for interior landscaping — need deep, diffuse shade to hold quality.
Nursery and livestock covers in high-radiation regions where lighter rates simply move the stress, not remove it.
Deep shade with airflow for vehicles, materials and crews — no solid-roof heat trap underneath.
Temporary covers over harvested produce and packing areas where direct sun damages quality within hours.

At high shading rates the knit is denser, and a denser knit catches more wind. That is why 90% nets are usually ordered in mid-to-heavy GSM grades with edges built for the fixing method, and why we ask about your structure before confirming a spec: span, post spacing and wind zone decide how much fabric strength the installation needs. Share those details and we will recommend a grade — and send free samples so your team can test the knit before the order.
The nominal 90% rate is set by the knit structure and holds across colors. What color changes is the quality of the shade: black yarn absorbs radiation and runs cooler underneath in still air, while white and light colors reflect and keep the under-net space brighter. For shade houses, black and dark green are the volume standards; for yards and parking, appearance usually decides. All colors run on the same 25–35 day lead time.
Buyers sometimes cross-shop these two. The difference is intent: 90% shade net is an agricultural fabric sold by shading rate, engineered for light control over crops and structures. Privacy screen is a fencing fabric sold by screening effect, with finished webbing-and-grommet edges for fence installation. If the job is shade, stay here; if it is a fence, that page is the right product. For anything in between — a yard cover that also blocks sightlines — tell us the use and we will point you to the right knit.
90% is a standard rate on our production schedule, not a special: MOQ 2 tons with mixed rates in one container, lead time 25–35 days after deposit, and a 40’HC loading 14–15 tons in compressed bale packing. Widths run to 12 m seamless with custom roll lengths, and private-label wrap, roll labels and barcodes are routine for distributor programs. Send your spec and destination port through the contact page or WhatsApp — pricing, roll counts and container loading come back within 24 hours.
Generally no — 90% is too dark for fruiting vegetables and most leafy crops. It is the right rate for ferns, shade ornamentals and non-crop covers. For vegetable production look at 50% shade net, and use our percentage guide if you are between rates.
Yes — the denser knit carries more wind load, so posts, cables and fixings should be engineered for it. Tell us your span, post spacing and local wind conditions and we will recommend a GSM and edge construction to match.
Two to five years of continuous outdoor exposure depending on grade and site UV intensity — the UV-stabilizer package, not the shading rate, sets the lifespan. Heavier GSM grades sit at the top of the range.
Yes — mixed-rate orders are routine. A distributor stocking 50%, 70% and 90% can combine all three in one 2-ton-minimum shipment, each rate with its own labels and packaging.
