Aluminum shade netting (aluminet) combines UV-stabilized HDPE yarn with strips of aluminum foil to reflect sunlight and heat instead of only absorbing it. Aluminum shade net solves the problem a black net cannot: black shade net absorbs the sun’s energy and re-radiates part of it downward as heat, while an aluminum-faced net reflects solar radiation away before it becomes heat in the greenhouse. In hot-climate greenhouse production, that difference shows up in canopy temperature, irrigation demand and flower quality — which is why reflective shading has become the standard upgrade conversation in greenhouse supply. As an aluminum shade net manufacturer, we knit aluminum foil tape together with HDPE yarn in our Changzhou factory: 80–120 gsm, 70–95% shading, in widths 1–6 m and roll lengths 50–200 m, for external greenhouse roofs, internal thermal screens and high-value crop protection.
The technical point that sells this product to growers: aluminum shade net does not merely block light, it scatters it. The foil strips reflect sunlight into diffuse radiation that reaches deeper into the crop canopy instead of scorching the top layer — more usable light at the bottom leaves, less heat stress at the top. Shading rates run 70–95% by weave density; we will spec the rate against your crop, latitude and whether the screen goes outside the roof (maximum heat rejection) or inside as a thermal/shade screen (heat retention at night, shading by day).
A foil-and-HDPE composite has two ways to fail — the foil oxidizing or the carrier yarn degrading — and cheap versions fail at both. Ours is knitted with UV-stabilized HDPE carrier yarn and greenhouse-grade foil, speced for 3–5 years of service in external installations and longer inside the greenhouse. Every batch is weight-checked inline, and retention samples are kept at the factory so a question in year three is answered against the actual material you received.
A 40’HQ carries 14–15 tons of aluminum shade netting; MOQ is 2 tons with mixed shading rates and widths in one container — sized for a greenhouse builder’s project or a distributor’s first season. Lead time 25–35 days after deposit; payment T/T 30/70 or 100% L/C at sight; samples free, you cover the courier. Aluminum when heat is the enemy: it reflects solar radiation instead of absorbing it, so the greenhouse runs cooler for the same shading rate, and the diffuse reflection improves light distribution in the canopy. Black net remains the economical choice for moderate climates and external crop shading.
70–95% depending on crop and climate — tell us the crop, latitude and whether the screen mounts outside the roof or inside, and we will recommend a rate. External mounting rejects the most heat; internal screens combine daytime shading with nighttime thermal retention.
