Serious shade for ornamentals, propagation and strong-sun regions — knitted HDPE, factory-direct.
Seventy percent is the workhorse rate for plant material that prefers filtered light, and for any structure sitting in a high-radiation climate. It removes enough energy to drop canopy temperature sharply and hold humidity longer, while still transmitting the diffuse light that shade-tolerant crops need. That is why 70% dominates our shipments to nursery operators, ornamental growers and distributors serving the Middle East, North Africa and other strong-sun markets.
Like every rate we make, our 70% net is warp-knitted from 100% virgin HDPE with UV stabilization in our own Changzhou factory — founded 2003, supplying distributors, importers and project buyers worldwide.
Shade-loving ornamentals hold color and leaf quality through summer without bleaching or edge burn.
Cuttings and grafts establish faster when radiation stress is removed but diffuse light remains.
Container stock survives peak summer in high-radiation regions without daily emergency irrigation.
Animal shelters, carports, storage and work yards that need real shade without a solid roof.

Under 70% shade, peak leaf and surface temperatures fall well below open-sun levels and evaporation slows noticeably — growers typically see irrigation intervals stretch and heat-stress damage disappear from tender crops. The trade-off is light: fruiting vegetables will not yield well at this rate, so match the shade to the crop. When the goal is worker comfort, animal welfare or shade-loving plants rather than fruit production, 70% is usually the efficient choice.
Nursery crews cut and re-hang net constantly, and that is where construction shows. Our warp-knitted fabric does not ladder or unravel when cut to size, flexes over hoops without creasing, and tolerates years of rolling and re-hanging between seasons. The full technical comparison is in knitted vs woven shade net — the short version is that woven tapes cost less per roll and more per year.
The rule of thumb from two decades of export orders: 50% for fruiting vegetables and general greenhouse covers, 70% for ornamentals, propagation and hot-climate nursery stock, 90% for shade houses, extreme heat and non-crop covers. Our 50% vs 70% comparison goes deeper on the middle of the range. Tell us crop, climate and structure and we will confirm the rate before you commit a container.
Distributors in strong-sun markets usually anchor their range on 70% and fill around it with 50% and 90%. We support that pattern directly: MOQ 2 tons with mixed rates and widths in one container, a 40’HC loading 14–15 tons in compressed bales, lead time 25–35 days after deposit. Private-label roll wraps, barcodes and retail-ready packaging are standard, samples of any grade are free (you cover the courier), and every inquiry through the contact page or WhatsApp gets a reply within 24 hours with roll counts and container math.
For shade-tolerant plants, no — ornamentals, foliage crops and young nursery stock grow normally under 70%. For fruiting vegetables like tomato and pepper, 70% is too dark for full yield; stay at 50% or below for those crops.
It is the rate we ship most for animal shade in hot climates: deep shade with airflow that a solid roof cannot give, and the knit handles years of outdoor exposure. Specify a heavier GSM where animals can rub or reach the net.
A 40’HC carries 14–15 tons. At typical mid-weight grades that is roughly 150,000–300,000 m² depending on the GSM you choose — send your target grade and we will calculate the exact roll count before you commit.
Green and black are the volume standards; dark green, white and black-green run on the same lead time. The nominal 70% rate is set by the knit structure, not the dye — choose color by crop habit and how the structure should look.
