Balanced shade for vegetables, nurseries and general greenhouse production — knitted from 100% virgin HDPE in our own factory.
A 50% shade net cuts incoming solar radiation roughly in half while keeping enough light for photosynthesis to run at near-open-field rates. For most fruiting vegetables and young nursery stock that balance is exactly the point: leaf temperatures drop, sunscald and heat stress fall away, and irrigation demand eases — without the yield penalty that heavier shade can bring to light-hungry crops.
OMB Textiles knits 50% shade net from 100% virgin HDPE with a UV-stabilizer package dosed per batch, on warp-knitting machines in our own Changzhou factory. We have produced this fabric since 2003, and 50% remains the single most-ordered shading rate in our export program because it covers the widest crop range.
Tomato, pepper, cucumber and eggplant houses — enough light for fruit set, real protection from midday scald and blossom-end heat stress.
Propagation, grafting recovery and hardening areas where tender stock needs moderated light rather than full sun.
The default rate for mixed-crop greenhouses in temperate and subtropical climates — one spec answers most crop questions.
Temporary shade over new plantings while root systems establish through their first two summers.

Shading rate and weight are independent decisions. At the same 50% rate, a heavier knit does not give more shade — it gives a stronger, longer-lived net. Light grades around 40–60 gsm suit seasonal vegetable covers that come down after one or two cycles. Mid grades carry multi-year nursery and greenhouse duty. Heavy grades are specified where wind exposure or permanent installation demands more from the fabric. Our shade net GSM selection guide walks through the trade-offs, and we send free samples of any two grades so you can compare the knits in hand.
If your summers are short or the crop is genuinely light-demanding, 40% keeps more light. If you are shading ornamentals, propagation areas or livestock in strong-sun regions, 70% shade net is usually the better tool — our 50% vs 70% comparison walks through that decision in detail, and 90% shade net covers shade-house and extreme-heat duty. Still unsure? Tell us the crop, climate and structure and we will spec the rate with you.
Every container of 50% net starts as virgin HDPE resin batched with UV masterbatch at our own dosing stations — not blended from bought-in yarn. Inline weight checks run from the first roll to the last roll of your order, and batch retention samples stay in the factory so any roll can be traced back to its resin lot. That is the practical difference between buying from a shade net manufacturer and buying from a trader aggregating across workshops.
Because 50% is our highest-volume rate, it is permanently on the production schedule: lead time is 25–35 days after deposit, and a 40’HC takes 14–15 tons with compressed bale packing. MOQ is 2 tons, and mixed rates in one container are routine — many distributors stock 50%, 70% and 90% together so their retailers can answer every crop question from one supplier. OEM roll labels, barcodes and private-label wrap are production settings for us. Send your widths, GSM and destination port through the contact page or WhatsApp and you will have pricing and roll counts within 24 hours.
Yes — 50% is the most common spec we ship for tomato and pepper programs. It cuts sunscald and midday heat stress while keeping enough light for fruit set and ripening. In very hot inland climates some growers step up to 65–70% for the peak summer weeks.
Match the weight to the duty, not to the shade: 40–60 gsm for seasonal covers, mid weights for multi-year greenhouse and nursery use, heavier knits for permanent or wind-exposed structures. If two grades both look right, ask for samples of each — the difference in hand is obvious.
Yes. Mixed-rate containers are standard practice for our distributors — the 2-ton MOQ applies to the whole shipment, and 50% can share it with 65%, 70% or 90% rolls, each rate with its own labels.
Width up to 12 m seamless and colors beyond green and black are routine production settings, not surcharges. Custom roll lengths and private-label packaging run on the same 25–35 day lead time.
