Most first-time buyers overthink the first order. In reality, buying bulk netting from a factory runs on a six-step track that has not changed in twenty years: send a precise RFQ, get a real quote within 24 hours, test free samples, sign a PI with written specs, wait 25–35 days of production with a loading photo record, and receive the container with full documents. This guide walks the track step by step — including exactly what to send in your first message to get a same-week answer.
The speed of your quote is decided by the precision of your inquiry. A one-line “price of shade net?” gets a one-line answer with questions back; a complete RFQ gets numbers the same day. Send five things: the product and application (e.g., shade net for greenhouse tomatoes, bird netting for a vineyard), the spec (GSM or shading rate and mesh size if you know them — or the crop and climate and we spec it), the dimensions (width × length per roll or panel), the quantity (rolls, square meters, or tons — and if you are not sure, tell us the area or block size and we convert), and the destination port. That is the whole message. Anything beyond it — target price, annual volume, private label plans — is welcome but optional.
A real quote is numbers, not a brochure. Within 24 hours of a complete RFQ you have: price per roll or per ton, roll or panel counts for your order, the container math for your grades (tons, square meters, and the freight picture to your port), the packing plan, and the production slot. If your inquiry is missing a spec, the quote says so and prices both options instead of guessing. Our standing rule: every inquiry gets a real answer within 24 hours — test it.
Never commit a container to a net you have not held. Standard samples are free — you cover the courier, and they leave within days of your request. Use them the way buyers with experience do: bend the fabric hard and look for whitening at the crease (the recycled-content tell), hold the mesh against the spec you were quoted, and if your climate is the product’s workplace — Australian sun, Gulf heat — put the sample out in it for a few weeks. A supplier who hesitates to send samples is telling you something about the product. The evaluation framework behind this is in our supplier evaluation guide.
Expect two or three questions in our reply, and read them as a good sign. “What is this for?” — the application decides the spec: netting for greenhouse tomatoes and netting for a construction site can share a name and share nothing else. “Which port, and is this the first import?” — the port sets the freight math and, for first-time importers, we flag the customs and document steps your broker will ask about. “Retail program or project use?” — the same net packs differently for a store shelf and a work site, and the packing decision belongs in the quote, not after the deposit. Buyers sometimes read questions as friction; they are the opposite — they are the quote being built to survive the container door — and the awkward, expensive conversations avoided before they ever exist.
The proforma invoice is your protection, so read what it says before you pay: GSM, mesh, width, length, color, UV treatment, packing format, and the agreed tolerance — in numbers, not adjectives. “As per sample” is a loophole; a number is a contract. Payment follows the industry standard: T/T 30% deposit with 70% against shipping documents, or 100% L/C at sight. Production starts when the deposit lands — that is when the 25–35 day clock starts, not at the RFQ.
Production runs 25–35 days after deposit (one 40’HQ in 30 days, two in 45, three in 60). During production your order runs through the QC chain — inline weight checks, batch records from resin to roll. At loading day you receive the photo record of your container being loaded, bale by bale, before the doors seal — you see exactly what went in before it leaves the yard. The loading and packing side is detailed in the container loading and packing guide.
Ocean freight adds roughly 3–6 weeks depending on your port. Your container travels with its documents — packing list by bale and roll, commercial invoice, and product spec sheets for your customs broker. On arrival: check the bale count against the packing list, spot-check a roll against the PI spec, and keep the documents for your records. If anything looks off, the conversation starts with the batch retention sample at our factory — your claim gets checked against the actual production record, which makes it a measurement, not an argument.
OMB Textiles is a knitted HDPE netting manufacturer in Changzhou, China — founded in 2003, running this exact track for distributors, contractors and project buyers in over 60 markets. The fastest way to see it working: send your five-line RFQ — product and application, spec, dimensions, quantity, destination port — via the contact page or WhatsApp. You will have a real quote within 24 hours, samples within days, and a decision you can defend to your own customers. The full product range is on the products page, and the factory-side story is in the quality control guide.
Send the application instead — crop and climate for agriculture, structure type for construction. We spec the GSM, mesh and shade rate from the use case and quote against it; the spec gets confirmed by your sample before the deposit, not guessed at.
Our MOQ is 2 tons (5 tons for warning net) with mixed products and grades in one shipment — sized so a first order can test a full range without committing a container to one SKU. First-time buyers usually take the MOQ; repeat buyers take the container.
Yes — send the two or three grades you are weighing and we ship them together. Comparing grades in hand is exactly what samples are for, and it is free except the courier.
We check your claim against the batch retention sample and the production record — the same material from the same batch, tested on both sides. The written spec on your PI is the reference, which is why we put numbers on it.
Faster than the first: your spec is on file, so a repeat is one message with quantity and port. Production slot, loading photos, documents — same track, no re-explaining.
